Everyone knows there is a huge rivalry between Apple and Google especially in the phone market industry. But is it true that the rivalry is as intense as ever?
Recently in the third quarter, survey shows that Google's Droid just passed Apple's iOS in terms of the amount of users using their mobile phone OS. While the leading mobile operating system is still Nokia's symbian, Google and Apple are directly behind them. For this fact, we know that the rivalry between Google and Apple is really intense.
On November 17th 2010, aside from announcing the Beatles in the iTunes, Apple Inc. also added the official Google Voice mobile app to the app store. Users of iphones will be able to download the app for free. This app let iPhone users to use Google Voice without having to open browser and surf the site. This is making life more convenient to the consumers.
Google Voice was launched by the search giant in March 2009. U.S. users are able to make inexpensive international calls, routs calls to a user's various phone numbers, and provides other advanced features, such as call forwarding and voice mail. It is also integrated with the new GTalk feature on GMail which allows GMail users call landline in the US for free.
So are you convinced that Google and Apple have put their past behind them and agrees to a "peace treaty?"
TechMaiden feels that Apple approved of this to satisfy the consumers since there was a large demand on it. Google is satisfied because the iPhone market is really significant to add revenue and also as a free marketing strategy. Whichever is the case, two competitive businesses is always good for the economy. I hope Google will continue coming out with free and innovative products while Apple continue to produce good hardwares and devices which are priced reasonably.
***There are signs with the increase in prices of the Dow, S&O 500 and also NASDAQ. The economy is really doing well and i think we will see an significant increase in stock prices in these few months. An early Christmas present for all stock owners and also the economy. Credits to Bernanke and hope all readers out there are doing well.
